Hello everyone!!! So we are finally in Delaware and it is beautiful here! The past few days we stayed in Pennsylvania for two nights, and Baltimore, Maryland for one night and now we're in Delaware.
We were finally in Pennsylvania!!!
Driving the car
This is all the driving we did!!!!
When we got to Pennsylvania we stayed with the Lucas family who Melissa knew from last year. They were wonderful to us and we had so much fun with them!!! They made us dinner and we went to Bible study with them. Their one daughter was doing a workcamp in Racine, Wisconsin this week. Then they took us to this ice cream place Sarris and it was delicious!!!! We stayed the night there and the next night we stayed in Pittsburg and hung out with the Week of Hope crew who is assigned in Pittsburgh. We hung out with them and saw their school, saw an awesome view of the city from a spooky place, and got fro-yo!!!! We had an awesome time with them!!!
We stayed in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania for the night with a co-sponsor from last year.

Off to Pittsburgh we go!!!
The Heinz factory!!!!
Apparently this is famous in Pittsburgh...I ate the best cheeseburger here that I have ever had!!!!
The Chesapeake Bay!!!!
After we were in Pennsylvania we went to Maryland!!! It was my first time ever there and I really liked it! I thought it was beautiful there! We then made our treck to our final destination....DELAWARE!!!!
Finally here!!!!
it was 6:16 on June 16th!!! I thought that was cool, and there's my cute puppa!!!!
So, we are finally in Delaware. We got here and we decided to eat lunch on the beach. Then we went to the church and met with our co-sponsor ( the person who is putting on the camp for us and who has organized everything for us before we get here) Pastor Woody. He is the nicest man and has such a kind house. They have put us up in a beach house until Wednesday and then we are moving to a motel that the church owns which is right on the boardwalk by the beach. Ocean View is a really cute little town and it is a lot of fun so far. This morning we went and met our setup directors Steve and Chip. They are wonderful and we got so much done today!!! I'm hoping we get a lot done tomorrow so we can take Wednesday off and go to the beach...probably won't happen but a girl can dream right??? Pastor Woody and his wife Christina are spoiling us rotten and to be honest we are loving every second of it!!! The people here are wonderful and about 30 or more volunteers showed up today to help us with set up. The people here have such giving hearts and the camp is already so organized. I am so excited to be a part of Ocean View's first workcamp, and hopefully there will be many more to come. After dinner we went and walked on the beach and we decided to go swimming so we went out before sunset and went swimming and we had the BEST time...if only the sun would have been out so I could have gotten a tan...oh well maybe tomorrow!!!!!! I'm excited that we have finally started working and that I can start wearing my red shirt so I don't have to pick out my outfits anymore hahah!!! I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and here are more pictures of Delaware and the beach!!!!!!

Hey everyone!!! Well, traveling these past couple days has been absolutely crazy!!! We have been having a ridiculous amount of fun on the road!!! Sunday was our first travel day. We drove through Colorado, Wyoming, and stopped for the night in Omaha, Nebraska. I saw tumbleweeds, antelope, buffalo, and some corn. It was wonderful! We re-entered the central time zone which was soooo nice!!! We stayed at a double tree inn in Omaha Nebraska and they gave us free cookies!!!
This is what we stared at while driving for 9 hours the first day!!!
Melissa really wanted grapes, so we went to walmart and she washed them in the walmart bathroom sink ahhahaa
The Concordia in Nebraska
There were windmills everywhere!!!!
Melissa was pretending that the elevator was a ride...she was entertaining herself
On our second day we traveled through the rest of Nebraska, Iowa, and we stopped in Yorkville, Illinois where Chris lives. We stayed there for the night, and on Wednesday we went to Chicago for the day and then stayed at my house for the night!!!! I got to see my family and Tricia which was sooo nice!!!!
World's Largest Truck Stop in Iowa!!!
Melissa was excited to roast marshmellows!!!
We listened to this orchestra practicing for their concert!!!

On Wednesday we traveled through Illinois, Indiana, and we are now in Toledo Ohio!!!!
Our adventure has been super fun!!! Tomorrow we are driving to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania for 2 nights then on to Maryland and we will reach our destination of Delaware on Sunday afternoon!!! Time is flying by super fast and everything is crazy! I miss all of my friends and family, but this job and all of the experiences that are coming with it are awesome! We found out today that at our first camp we may be meeting the governor, lt. governor, and possibly even the vice president of the united states at our first camp!!! This is going to be an interesting and amazing experience. Don't forget to skype, call, text, facebook me!!!! Shoutout to my bestest friend in the entire world Tricia!!! Love you girl!!!
This is the entire staff which included week of hope which does service projects and has around 100 campers and they stay in one location for the summer. I am doing workcamps and we do labor such as painting, building, and fixing things with around 300-400 participants!!!
So this has been my final week of training and it has
absolutely flown by!!! I’ve met even
more new people then I had last week! On
Wednesday my friend Kat and I decided to go for a walk around the lake right
behind the school we were staying at, at sunrise. We were walking when we came across this
sign!!! Apparently elk are not very nice
haha!!!
It's kind of hard to read, but it says DO NOT ENTER, TRAIL CLOSED, PROTECTIVE MAMA ELK!
On Thursday and Friday we met
our MC’s who will be doing our camps. I
only got to meet 2 out of the 3, but they are fantastic!!! I also met one of my directors and he seems like
he is going to be doing a lot of pranks on me!
I am really excited to work with all of them. This is the truck that we will
be riding in for the summer!!
This is the truck we will be driving all summer long!
This is my staff that I’m working with for
the summer.
This is my crew Karen, Tyrus, Chris, Me, and Melissa
We tried another ice cream place...it was very good!!!
On Friday we met with our
Project Leader, they are the ones who find places for us and the campers to
stay and they are the ones that put all of that together for us. We found out tons of information about our
camp!!! For our first camp we may be
staying at a house on the beach for a few nights at no expense!!! The people sponsoring our camp are going to
be throwing us a huge dinner and apparently there is going to be lobster and
everything (too bad I don’t eat lobster!!!).
There are going to be dozens of volunteers to help us with our first
camp and we will have about 430 participants for this camp. Our 2nd and 3rd camps
in West Virginia are going to be interesting to say the least, so I will just
wait to see how those turn out! On Friday night we also had a commissioning and
we finally got our red shirts!!! It was
very exciting, apparently a lot of people usually get let go during training
(last year I think there were 4 or 5) and there was only one and they were let
go Friday morning. I’m so excited to
have made it, but it’s bittersweet because we will be leaving on Sunday and I
am going to miss all the friends that I have made.
We are officially STAFF!!!
On Friday night we went and hung out in downtown
Estes Park. They have the cutest shops
and restaurants there! We got ice from
Laura’s which was great. Then we went to
grandma’s cookies and she asked us to watch her store while she moved her
car. We had never even met her
before!!! So we did and she was super
sweet and talked our ears off for like 20 minutes but we loved it! Then she gave us all hugs before we
left. We hung out downtown for a while and then we came back
and watched the bachelorette!!! Hahaha I was happy!!! Also, we are starting to get very sick of the food, so we have been eating at McDonald's a lot!
On Saturday morning I went and got my first chi tea latte...it was sooo good!!!
I tried my first chi tea on Saturday....it was awesome it tastes like pumpkin pie in a cup
Then we went and loaded our
trucks so they are all ready for us to go!!! Even though training was really hard and very tiring I have made some wonderful friends, and I love all my office managers so much and I know I will keep in contact with them!!!
These are the office managers I trained with! I love them all so much and I am so glad that I met every single one of them :)
Here’s a shout out to all my wonderful friends that I miss so much,
