West Virginia Bound

Hello everyone!  Sorry I haven't written in 2 weeks but everything has been so crazy!!! During the end of our setup week we had a lot of time to hangout and do fun things by the board walk.  Kohr Bros. is supposedly a very popular place, so we ate there and it was wonderful!!!

I love my ice cream and sprinkles!!!
We ate at this place and the wings reminded me of wing stop!!!
Melissa and I the morning that she left :(  We miss her!!!

So we finished up our week in Ocean view.  The camp was fantastic!!!! I absolutely love my job and could never ask for a better one!  Unfournatlely I did not get to take a lot of pictures at this camp, but I promise next camp I'll do better!!!  All of our site coaches were hilarious and I hope I stay in contact with them.  They are the ones who go to all the work sites and make sure everything is getting done properly and answer any questions that the campers on the work sites may have.  We had 8 of them which were all men and I adored them all!!!  Our director Bill was super nice and he was very hands on with everything so he turned out to be a huge help. Our MC Setrak thinks he is hilarious and he is a huge diva but he was so much fun to serve with and hopefully we will get to see him again before we go back to Colorado at the end of the summer!!!

We had about 430 participants in our camp in Ocean View.  The youth leaders I came into contact with were awesome.  Every night Karen and I would read a bed time story to the girls...they loved it!  We had a great time as a staff!!!  During the week I got to go out to visit the sites twice so I went with Tyrus...he was super excited that I was going with him!!!
Me and Ty going to visit the sites!!!

My office team member Jean was awesome.  We had way too much fun together and we got into all kinds of trouble...it was fabulous!!!

Me and Jean!!!
John sent me a care package!!!  I had cookies from that package everyday for breakfast cause the food was soo bad hahaa.  It was a life saver!!!

Our co-sponsor for our last camp and his wife, Pastor Woody and Christina, spoiled us rotten while we were there.  They gave this to us as a going away present.  This Bible was sent to several different places in the United States, and the whole Bible is hand written.  It is seriously the coolest gift I have ever received.  My name is even engraved on the front.  I will miss Pastor Woody and Christina and all the other helpers we had while in Delaware, their kindness and hospitality was overwhelming!!!
They even engraved it.  It says Kelly 1st State Workcamp

I LOVE IT!!!!

We stayed in Wilmington Delaware yesterday and tonight and tomorrow night we will be staying in Washington D.C.  There will be more pictures and stories to come!!! I'm sorry I've been so busy that I haven't been able to text or call anyone but please keep trying to contact me and I will do my best to talk to you.  We are on our way to West Virginia, but there is no power where we are going so we are trying to figure everything out.  Please pray for us, they said the power may not be back on until after the campers get there next week so we are working on it.  We will need the prayers.  I love you all and I will talk to you soon!!!

We were finally in Pennsylvania!!!

Driving the car
This is all the driving we did!!!!
When we got to Pennsylvania we stayed with the Lucas family who Melissa knew from last year.  They were wonderful to us and we had so much fun with them!!! They made us dinner and we went to Bible study with them.  Their one daughter was doing a workcamp in Racine, Wisconsin this week.  Then they took us to this ice cream place Sarris and it was delicious!!!!  We stayed the night there and the next night we stayed in Pittsburg and hung out with the Week of Hope crew who is assigned in Pittsburgh. We hung out with them and saw their school, saw an awesome view of the city from a spooky place, and got fro-yo!!!!  We had an awesome time with them!!!
We stayed in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania for the night with a co-sponsor from last year.

After we were in Pennsylvania we went to Maryland!!!  It was my first time ever there and I really liked it!  I thought it was beautiful there!  We then made our treck to our final destination....DELAWARE!!!!

Finally here!!!!

it was 6:16 on June 16th!!! I thought that was cool, and there's my cute puppa!!!!
So, we are finally in Delaware.  We got here and we decided to eat lunch on the beach.  Then we went to the church and met with our co-sponsor ( the person who is putting on the camp for us and who has organized everything for us before we get here) Pastor Woody.  He is the nicest man and has such a kind house.  They have put us up in a beach house until Wednesday and then we are moving to a motel that the church owns which is right on the boardwalk by the beach.  Ocean View is a really cute little town and it is a lot of fun so far.  This morning we went and met our setup directors Steve and Chip.  They are wonderful and we got so much done today!!! I'm hoping we get a lot done tomorrow so we can take Wednesday off and go to the beach...probably won't happen but a girl can dream right???  Pastor Woody and his wife Christina are spoiling us rotten and to be honest we are loving every second of it!!!  The people here are wonderful and about 30 or more volunteers showed up today to help us with set up.  The people here have such giving hearts and the camp is already so organized.  I am so excited to be a part of Ocean View's first workcamp, and hopefully there will be many more to come.  After dinner we went and walked on the beach and we decided to go swimming so we went out before sunset and went swimming and we had the BEST time...if only the sun would have been out so I could have gotten a tan...oh well  maybe tomorrow!!!!!!  I'm excited that we have finally started working and that I can start wearing my red shirt so I don't have to pick out my outfits anymore hahah!!!  I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and here are more pictures of Delaware and the beach!!!!!!

We ate lunch on the beach!!!

Traveling to Deleware....

There was a forest fire in the mountains and we could see the smoke, you may have seen something about this on the news!!!
Hey everyone!!! Well, traveling these past couple days has been absolutely crazy!!!  We have been having a ridiculous amount of fun on the road!!! Sunday was our first travel day.  We drove through Colorado, Wyoming, and stopped for the night in Omaha, Nebraska.  I saw tumbleweeds, antelope, buffalo, and some corn.  It was wonderful!  We re-entered the central time zone which was soooo nice!!!  We stayed at a double tree inn in Omaha Nebraska and they gave us free cookies!!!

This is what we stared at while driving for 9 hours the first day!!!
Melissa really wanted grapes, so we went to walmart and she washed them in the walmart bathroom sink ahhahaa

The Concordia in Nebraska
There were windmills everywhere!!!!
Melissa was pretending that the elevator was a ride...she was entertaining herself
On our second day we traveled through the rest of Nebraska, Iowa, and we stopped in Yorkville, Illinois where Chris lives.  We stayed there for the night, and on Wednesday we went to Chicago for the day and then stayed at my house for the night!!!!  I got to see my family and Tricia which was sooo nice!!!!

Our adventure has been super fun!!! Tomorrow we are driving to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania for 2 nights then on to Maryland and we will reach our destination of Delaware on Sunday afternoon!!!  Time is flying by super fast and everything is crazy!  I miss all of my friends and family, but this job and all of the experiences that are coming with it are awesome!  We found out today that at our first camp we may be meeting the governor, lt. governor, and possibly even the vice president of the united states at our first camp!!!  This is going to be an interesting and amazing experience.  Don't forget to skype, call, text, facebook me!!!!  Shoutout to my bestest friend in the entire world Tricia!!! Love you girl!!!
